What more can you say, it’s Carolina Bar-B-Que, East Coasts Finest.. When I first went there I had no idea that their pulled pork was so original Carolina, so I went home and got my entire family and came back and bought five pulled pork platters…. It really is Carolina Style, you must go there…

I think that is real ignorant as an adult. But you also have to understand we mimic what we learn from our parents when we were kids. So who ever this parent was he or she was called all or some type of name when they were growing. Children are replicas of their parents. So if she called that child stupid, then what does that make her?

When i was preparing to attend the Junior Prom in High School (1970), I went shopping with my Mom, and found nothing either within reach or desire. Scouring the clearance rack, we found a pretty (but short) cocktail dress for $3. and Mom said, “I think we can do something with this!” Her confidence inspired me – and rightly so. A trip to the fabric store for a yard and a half of lengthening voile and some complementary trim, and we were on our way to a transformation akin to that which took place in Cinderella’s attic with the help of her feathered friends.

This is how memories are made!

Ding How has been a favorite of my family ever since they opened their doors. The food is fantastic and the environment welcoming. As the reviewer states the service is fast and courteous, I ordered delivery the other night and it was at my door in less then twenty minutes. I cannot recommend them enough, after all, in Chinese “Ding How” means “The Best”!

While u are sitting in your air conditioning home on ur computer or lap top there are people out there dieing of heat stroke and in the winter freezing to death. I think its GREAT that B&B is doing all this to help these people!!!! As the saying goes a few bad apples will mess it up for everybody, instead of condeming the whole place how about u take pictures of the people that are doing the things that are “disturbing” you and ur neiborhood and show them to the police or the shelter managers? I’m sure not everyone their helping is “bothering” you!!!! Don’t get my wrong i understand with the fighting and urinating in alleys why you are upset but like I said B&B are just trying to help those that have NOTHING have a place to come to!!!!! HAVE A HEART!!!! GO TO CHURCH!!!!!! AND LEAVE B&B ALONE!!!!! GO AGAINST THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING THE CRIMES NOT THE PEOPLE TRYING TO HELP THE HOMELESS!!!!!!!!!!

The sweet potato fries at Nicks are awesome. Also, the fish-n-chips isn’t cod–it’s a fish called ‘bassa’ according to the chef. I enjoyed the same dish in April, and asked the chef as he came out to the deck for a break.

Lured in by the sign outside the store, boasting Fresh Lemonade and tamales (a mexican dish that’s not normally seen in most Baltimore menus), I went into Reuben’s Crepes last week for the first time. I talked to Reuben about my hesitation to order the tamale because they are easy to mess up, and he promised me that I would love it. He was right! The chicken tamale was delicious and it hit the spot. If you enjoy mexican food, and want to try something atypical, go to Reuben’s crepes. After reading this article, I think I’ll go in today after work and try one of those crepes!

I want to thank you for the excellent coverage of the proposed expansion of the Beans and Bread homeless center and community oppostition to these plans. As a result, I attended my first CHAP hearing on July 13th. Once again, the CHAP Commissioners instructed Beans and Bread to submit a design that shows that the main entrance is actually on Bond Street and not masquerading as a “fire exit” around the corner on Bank Street.

“This is one of those issues where people lose faith in their government” was State Senator George Della’s opening statement in his testimony in support of the community’s positions. In addition to support from Fell’s Point community groups, there were letters of support from Delegates Brian McHale and Pete Hammon, and for the first time ever, a letter of support was received from our new Council President, Jack Young. Jim Kraft, Councilman for our 1st District, is also a CHAP Commissioner, and he has always supported the community’s positions on this issue.

What has been sorely lacking in this process is support from either our current Mayor or her predecessor. Neither Mayor entered into any kind of dialog with community members on this issue. It’s time for Mayor Stephaine-Rawlings Blake to examine the City’s role in this process and determine if city agencies have followed their own guidelines and procedures in this matter.

We welcomed our new Mayor’s pledge for ethics reform and transparancy. Now it’s time for her deliver on her pledge. It would also serve her well to personally speak with community leaders in the greater Fell’s Point area regarding Beans and Bread, and to work with them to establish a master plan for the Broadway Corridor.

I would like to have information posted on your website about a community cleanup of the shores and waterways around Maryland. The International Coastal Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9 am to 1 pm at many sites. Volunteers help to clean the harmful and unsightly trash from the shore before it floats into the Bay.
How can I get this info posted?

Canton does not need “outdoor living rooms”; Canton needs more parking, as do adjacent neighborhoods. Is it possible that the city is reluctant to increase the number of legal, on-street parking spaces because Canton residents are viewed as cash cows? Why else would parking officers troll Canton streets day and night to write tickets? Perhaps it is because Canton residents actually pay parking fines. Jim Kraft has repeatedly stated that Canton and adjacent neighborhoods are short thousands of parking spaces. Reverse angle parking (RAP) would not solve the problem but would at least add hundreds of desperately needed parking spaces. In addition, converting streets to one-way single lanes of traffic increases the safety for walkers, bicyclists, transit vehicles, and automobiles. The successful installation of RAP in Fells Prospect is a example of the city responding to resident needs. I suspect the city’s concerns are more related to the Red Line than “outdoor living rooms”.
