Jahmal Eggleston, 14, a sophomore at Cristo Rey Jesuit (CRJ) High School in Fells Point, is the school’s first student to be named to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association’s all-conference basketball team for the “C” Conference.

Jahmal Eggleston, a sophomore at Cristo Rey Jesuit School, is the school’s first student to be named to the all-conference basketball team.

According to an announcement made last week at the school, only ten student athletes from the Baltimore area were selected. Jahmal was one of three sophomores on the MIAA “C” roster.

Jahmal has played as a guard on the CRJ Hornets men’s team for two seasons. At CRJ, Jahmal has averaged 23 points per game. He also plays for Nike Baltimore Elite.

A resident of East Baltimore, Jahmal was a member of the first graduating class of the Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy. In addition to his attendance at CRJ, Jahmal works at the corporate offices of Erickson as part of Cristo Rey Jesuit’s Corporate Internship Program. This work helps to underwrite the cost of his attendance at the school.

Cristo Rey Jesuit Athletic Director Tony Cole says, “We’re very proud of Jahmal. He has a serious commitment to our basketball program. “And with this honor, he has put Cristo Rey Jesuit on the map. Jahmal has the ability to play on the college level, and I look forward to working with him as he continues to develop his skills.”
