1st Mariner Bank buys Inn at the Black Olive

Paul Cooper of Alex Cooper Auctioneers confirmed last week that the Inn at the Black Olive has sold at auction for $3.9 million to an entity connected to 1st Mariner Bank, which had held the mortgage for the property.

Bidding opened at $2.5 million, Cooper said.

The 12-suite inn, with roof-top restaurant and gourmet food market, is located at 803 S. Caroline St. and remains open for business.

The property, which was most recently assessed at $3.3 million according to the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation, had been foreclosed on for $5.4 million in mid January.
