O’Donnell St., 5600 block, March 18, 1 a.m. A woman told the Northeast Police District that while at the nightclub, she saw her ex-boyfriend and fled, but he hit her in the back of the head. She was on the ground looking up at him, she said, and he had a liquor bottle in his hand. He then punched her in the face and took her cell phone, she told police. A warrant was obtained.
S. Washington St., unit block, March 18, 7:50 a.m. A woman told police that while she was walking, a man came up behind her and tapped her purse. She turned around; he told her, “I need your money.” She said that she had none; he said, “I know you have money.” She started to cry and asked the suspect to give her phone back. E. Baltimore St., 2700 block, March 18, 9 a.m. A woman said that while she was walking past the duck pond, she noticed the suspect following her. The suspect asked her where Lakewood was; before she could reply, he pulled out a gun. The woman handed over her money. During a canvass of the area, she identified the suspect, who was arrested. He was the same man arrested in the entry above; the gun was determined to be a fake.
E. Fayette St., 900 block, March 19, 9 p.m. A man and woman were walking the block, they told police, when two male suspects approached. One of the suspects told the woman to give him her phone, which she did. The other suspect then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man the woman was with, and demanded his phone. He gave it to him; the suspects walked away.
E. Lombard St., 3800 block, March 19, 10:10 p.m. An officer responded to Hopkins Bayview and spoke with a nurse, who said that the victim came in on March 20 for treatment for a head laceration. The victim said that the previous day, he had been walking the block when the suspects approached him. One pulled out a silver handgun, demanded his money, took it from his pocket, and hit him with the gun.
S. Chester St., 400 block, March 20, 10 p.m. A man reported that while walking home from work, he was struck in the back of the head with an unknown object, and he fell forward and hit his forehead on the ground. He said he felt hands going through his pockets and removing his property.
Bank St., 3400 block, March 21, 12:40 a.m. A man told police that he was approached from behind by two unknown suspects, one of whom brandished a handgun and said, “Give me what you got.” The victim complied; the suspects fled.
S. Conkling St., 300 block, March 22 , 7:20 p.m. A man told police that he was standing on the corner texting when a white sedan pulled up, and three suspects got out. The approached him and said, “Do you know what time it is?” One of the suspects grabbed the victims cellphone; a fight ensued over the phone, which fell on the ground. The suspect picked it up and fled with the other two suspects in the car. The victim gave the police a description of the car, including the license tag, and the three suspects were stopped, detained, and arrested.
Fagley St., 200 block, March 22, 8:20 p.m. A woman told police that she was leaving the corner store when the suspect approached her from behind and asked for a dollar. She turned around and saw a large man with a mask over his face and a gun. She dropped her money on the ground; he told her to pick it up. As she was doing so, she felt the suspect’s gun on the back of her head and heard his laughter as he removed a pack of cigarettes from her person.
S. Bouldin St., 100 block, March 22, 11:53 p.m. A man reported that while he was walking, two suspects came up and hit him in the back of the head and began to beat him. One of the suspects pointed a gun at him. The two male suspects went through his pockets and fled, but didn’t take any property.
S. Linwood Ave., 800 block, March 23, 12:08 a.m. Two men were walking when a red sedan pulled up. Two men got out and put ski masks over their faces. One of them pulled out a gun and said, “Sit down; give us everything you have.” The victims handed over their wallets and iPhones. The sedan pulled up; the suspects got inside; the car drove off.
N. Luzerne Ave., 200 block, March 23, 10 a.m. An unknown suspect kicked in the rear door to the vacant property and stole copper wire from the washer, dryer, and air conditioning unit.
E. Pratt St., 1700 block, March 17, 1:30 p.m. A man reported that his roommate walked his girlfriend to her car, and left the front door of their building open and unlocked. When the roommate got back to the house, he saw a man leaving with a bag. He asked the man who he was, and the suspect replied that he was visiting a friend upstairs. The suspect then asked the roommate if he wanted to buy a gun. The roommate said no; the report ends here.
