The Baltimore City Health Department has announced flu immunization clinics. Residents are encouraged to check the website for the most current clinic information: www.baltimorehealth.org, or use the flu hotline: 443-984-4FLU (4358).
Thursday, Nov. 12: Pregnant women can receive the H1N1 flu shot by appointment only from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., at 1001 E. Fayette Street. Only 60 appointments are available. To request an appointment, call 443-984-4FLU.
Friday, Nov. 13: H1N1 flu shots and FluMist will be available at The Palladium, 2900 Liberty Heights Avenue, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. These are first-come, first-served.
The Centers for Disease Control has identified five groups recommended to receive the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine are: pregnant women, adults who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age, health care and emergency medical service personnel, healthy children 6 months to 24 years of age, and people ages 25 to 64 years who are at high risk of flu complications because of chronic health disorders or a compromised immune system. Many schools will also be offering vaccines to students.
