Patterson willed its way to a 32-25 victory, coming from behind after a slow start to the first quarter. The Black Knights scored two touchdowns in the first quarter to go up 12-0 on Patterson. But behind Patterson quarterback Craig Oliver’s four total touchdowns, the Clippers were able to storm back.

Oliver connected with running back/receiver Derwin Beasley for a 73-yard score. Oliver also threw a 57-yard pass to running back Fess Williams for a touchdown before the first half ended, putting the Clippers up 14-12.

City College scored twice and went up 25-14 in the third quarter. But Patterson answered again with a Beasley and Oliver rushing for touchdowns. Oliver, who injured his left arm in the game, added another passing touchdown to put the game away.
