Dunbar leaves footprint on X-C state championships

Dunbar’s cross-country teams placed a total of six runners in the MPSSAA’s state championship meet last Saturday, held at Hereford High School.
Four runners from the boys’ team and two from the girls’ team placed in the final meet of the season.

For the girls team, senior Shylia Buie finished 60th with a time of 26:12.6 and sophomore Melissa Davis finished 74th with a time of 29:39.2.

For the boys, junior Andrew Wells placed 58th with a time of 21:11.7. sophomore DeKarr Underwood placed 83rd with a time 23:35.4, sophomore Gregory Collins placed 89th with a time of 24:29.5 and sophomore Lawrence Dailey placed 93rd with a time of 26:19.8.

    Hello, my name is Chevay Ruffin. I was in the state championship at Hereford. I see the article that you had of it. You didn’t include 2 players which were:

    Freshmen Chevay Ruffin Time: 24:42:01. She came in before Shy’Lia Buie.

    Sophomore Keon Reed I don’t know his time or the place that he took.

    My coach think you should rewrite the article and include those names and when you rewrite it you should include:

    Chevay Ruffin who was the greatest runner that Dunbar has ever had in the entire X Country Cross season.
