Highlandtown’s Rent-A-Center store was the victim of a daylight armed robbery last week.
On Thursday, Nov. 14, at 11:25 a.m., two men were inside the store, located at 3504 Eastern Ave., according to police.
Police spokesman Detective Jeremy Silbert said that one of the suspects drew a weapon and ordered a store employee into the back of the store.
“The suspects were able to get away with merchandise and money,” he said.
Silbert added that the case remains open and under investigation.
“Detectives from the city-wide robbery unit are continuing to investigate,” he said.
Other sources stated that men made multiple trips in and out of the store with various electronics such as laptops and tablets. According to the police report, an employee had just finished helping two customers when one of the suspects placed a gun to his back and forced him into the back of the store.
According to the police report, the suspect made the employee sit in a chair by taping his arms to it.
