OWINGS MILLS — Wide receiver Lee Evans is not expected to play Sunday against the Houston Texans, said coach John Harbaugh.

Evans missed another practice on Friday, his second consecutive after being limited on Wednesday.

“We thought it would be fine by now,” Harbaugh said. “It’s just going a lot slower than we thought. We said we’d be day to day on it. He hasn’t practiced so I don’t see him playing on it.”

Left guard Ben Grubbs suffered a minor setback as his injured toe was stepped on during practice on Thursday. It’s unclear if it was stepped on during the morning walkthrough or in the afternoon session, or if the re-injury happened on Wednesday. He was listed as limited on Thursday, but did not practice Friday.

Also not practicing Friday: Cornerback Jimmy Smith (ankle), cornerback Chris Carr (hamstring).

Rice fined $7,500 for stiff arm

Running back Ray Rice was fined $7,500 for a stiff arm during the Ravens-Rams game. The stiff arm was on Rams cornerback Bradley Fletcher. Rice appeared to grab Fletcher’s face mask as he was being taken to the ground on what could possibly have been deemed a horse-collar tackle.

Rice is appealing the fine.

Ravens to honor Art Modell’s wife

The Ravens will wear a “PBM” decal to honor former Ravens owner Art Modell’s late wife, Patricia Breslin Modell, during Sunday’s game against Houston. Mrs. Modell passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday.

The Ravens will also hold a moment of silence for Mrs. Modell prior to kickoff.

“Classy, glamorous, but most of all generous and loving – that was Pat Modell,” Harbaugh said.
