According to Detective Vernon Davis of the Baltimore Police Department, the young woman was approached by a masked man with a knife, who forced her into a dark area area and sexually assaulted her. The victim, who was jogging at the time of the assault, is in her 20s, Davis said.

The suspect fled after the assault.

Davis said that detectives are currently reviewing video surveillance of nearby businesses, and the investigation is continuing. No other information on the assault is available at the time of this writing.

Davis said that the assault did not appear to be part of a pattern.

“We believe it’s pretty isolated,” he said.
