Thursday, July 30: exercise begins at 9 a.m. for one mile video walk; two mile video walk follows, aerobics at 10:30, then lunch at 11:30 and computer class at noon. The 12:30 p.m. movie is “Coco Chanel,” the story of one of fashion’s most prominent women, starring Shirley MacLaine.
Friday, July 31: Art class is 10 a.m. Bingo is at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 3: Exercise at 9 a.m., cards at 10:30; lunch is served at 11:30 Quilt class is 1-3 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 4: Play Wii at 9 a.m. and lunch at 11:30. Our short-story writing session is at noon. Yoga classes will be held from 5-7:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 5: Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., and we will play “The Price is Right” at 12:15 p.m.
Set your calendar for August 17 and free produce from the Hatton Center. Distribution is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Everyone age 55 or over is welcome (bring proof of age) and there is no income restriction. Bring a grocery cart along if you’re on foot.
Want to learn more about early philanthropists Peabody, Walters, Pratt and Hopkins? Wayne Schaumberg will tell us all about them Wednesday, Aug. 26. Lunch starts at 11 a.m. and the talk begins at 12:30. Call Sue for a lunch reservation and menu before Aug. 19. The program is free to Hatton members.
Whenever there is a Code Red heat alert declared by the Baltimore Health Department the Hatton Center will be open till 7 p.m. as a cooling station. The center has vouchers for a one-way bus, light rail or subway ticket to a cooling center and a secondary ticket for the return trip.
Volunteer Opportunity
Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver two meals a day between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Volunteers can choose to deliver one or more days per week, Monday-Friday. Call 410-558-0932, ext. 3021, to sign up, or log on to http://www.mealsonwheelsmd.org to find out more.
