What fun we had making quilting blocks! A group of spirited women joined together to make a beautiful tapestry. Sometime in the fall the quilt will be installed at the Baltimore Medical System’s new office. Thanks to teachers Ann Stiebing and Sarah Church, and the Creative Alliance.
Thursday, Aug 13: One-mile video walk at 9 a.m.; two mile video walk follows. There will be aerobics at 10:30,  lunch at 11:30, computer class at noon and the 12:30 p.m. movie is “The Soloist,” starring Jamie Foxx as a street musician and Robert Downey Jr. as the columnist who befriends him.
Friday, Aug 14: art class is 10 a.m. and bingo at 12:30 p.m.
Monday, Aug 17: exercise at 9 a.m., free produce distribution from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (recipients must be 55 or older; bring proof), cards at 10:30; Red Hatters meeting at 11 and lunch at 11:30.
Tuesday, Aug 18: play Wii at 9 a.m.,  and lunch at 11:30. The short story writing session is at noon and yoga classes are from 6:30 until 7:45.
Wednesday, Aug 19: Lunch is at 11:30. The members’ ice cream social follows at 12:30 p.m.
Want to learn about early philanthropists Peabody, Walters, Pratt and Hopkins? Wayne Schaumberg will tell us all about them on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. Call Sue for lunch reservation and menu before Aug 19. The program is free to Hatton members.

The Weatherization Assistance Program has received stimulus money to help residents reduce energy costs with conservation materials. Stop by the Hatton Center Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to apply.
