Many people observed St. Patrick’s Day last weekend, but the mathematically inclined, like Evan Goulet, visited Dangerously Delicious Pies, 2839 O’Donnell St., to pay special homage to Pi Day. Officially celebrated on March 14, Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant pi, usually written 3.14 in decimal form. If one is precise, however, the decimals continue forever. March 14, 2015, will be perhaps the most significant Pi Day of our lifetimes, particularly at 9:26:53 a.m. and p.m. Then, the digits of the date and time will represent 3.141592653, the first 10 digits of Pi.
