Do you want to check out books and DVDs from the Pratt Library but have overdue books and fines hanging over your head?
Take those overdue books and DVDs, etc. back to your nearest Pratt Library and get your fines erased, starting Monday.
Monday, Sept. 26, through Saturday, Oct. 1, is Amnesty Week at the Pratt.
No matter how long that book has been sitting on your coffee table, or how long that DVD has been collecting dust on top of your player, you can return it and pay no fine, but you still have to pay for lost materials.
The amnesty does not apply to e-reader or laptop loans, or interlibrary loans.
And, according to Roswell Encina, spokesman for the Pratt Library, the maximum fine for any material is $6 for adults and $3 for children’s materials.
“We just want the things back,” he says.
