On Sunday, April 6, an annual remembrance of the Katyn Forest massacre of 1940 drew a crowd to the National Katyn Memorial in Harbor East last weekend. Every year the ceremony memorializes about 20,000 Polish officers who, during World War II were taken in groups of 200-300, shot in the back of the head, and buried in mass graves in Russian forests by the Soviets.
