Last Friday, the city made sandbags available for residents and businesses who needed them in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy. Governor Martin O’Malley declared a State of Emergency on Friday, and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake activated the city’s Emergency Operations Center for Storm Response and Recovery Operations on Sunday. Also last week, the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company requested 2,000 out-of-state linemen and tree workers to assist in the storm.
