Water aerobics will be starting in April. The cost is $40 for 10 weeks and your transportation will be provided at no extra cost. Please call the center.

We will have a Screen Painting Class on Saturday, May 18. Call the center for more information.

We will celebrate Members in good standing with a free birthday party. The first party will be for members born between January 1 and June 30—the date will be May 22. Please call the center to make your reservation—RSVP is a must!

AARP will be doing taxes for the seniors this year. The last date is Monday, April 8. Call the center for an appointment.

Wednesday April 3: Book Club will discuss Room by Emma Donoghue. Waxter Wisdom is April 10, with a discussion on financial security at 9:30 a.m. April 17: Health and Fitness at 10 a.m.; Chair Yoga with Kelly Martinez. April 17: Legal Help; call center for appointment. April 24 is our Information meeting and blood pressure check at 12:15 p.m.; lunch at 11:30.

Thursday April 4,11,18, 25: Video Walk 9:30 a.m., Wii at 10 a.m., aerobics at 10:30 a.m., and lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Friday April 5,12,19,26: Art class at 10 a.m., bus to Wal-Mart at 10a.m. and Bingo at noon.

Monday April 1,8,15,22, 29: Video walk at 9 a.m., card playing at 10:30 a.m. and eating together at 11:30 a.m. Massages will be given by appointment on April 8 and 22, starting at 10 a.m. Red Hatters will meet April 15 at 11 a.m. Taxes will be done by appointment only on April 1 and 8. Please call the center for an appointment. Spanish class at 1 p.m.

April 3: Laughter is Good Medicine! Enjoy some laughs with us.12:15 p.m. Free Program

April 4: Stepping-on, a falls prevention program, session 1. This is an exciting new program to help you with falls prevention. It is a seven-week course and will be held on Thursdays in April (except for one class on Wednesday, April 24) and in May,10-11:30 a.m. Program includes interaction with leaders and participants, healthy snacks, guest speakers and giveaways. Please sign up by March 27; call the center for details.

April 10: Waxter Wisdom Trip. This month’s topic: “Financial Security, Making your Money Work for YOU!”  Bus transportation free to center members, $4 non-members. Eating Together lunch available; please reserve by April 1. Topics to be discussed include: financial stability,credit reports and scores, Social Security, Project SAFE and more.  9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Reservations for bus and meal must be made by April 1.

April 11: Podiatrist; 10:30 a.m.–noon. Stepping-on falls preventions program,  Session 2: Moving About Safely.

April 12: Blood pressure check, 10:30 a.m.

April 17: Spring Bingo. Cost of $15 includes 20 games of bingo (Prizes $15 (regular games) to $20 (special games), lunch and desert. Split the Pot games are available (cost $1 for 3 cards) and there will be a tombola table.

April 18: Stepping-on falls prevention program, Session 3: Advancing Exercises and Home Safety.

April 24: Stepping-on falls prevention program, Session 4: Vision and Falls, Community Safety and Footwear.

April 25: Senior Division Day at the Races, Pimlico Race Track, $40. Includes admission, buffet luncheon served in the Triple Crown Room, racing program, reserved grandstand seating and group transportation. Time at Pimlico 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We have a limited amount of seats available. Pick up time from John Booth around 10:00 a.m. Money due by April 4; call center for details.
