South Baltimore Crime: ‘Friend’ steals cash from car and hoofs it

1500 block E. Fort Ave., Wednesday, April 4, 6:40 p.m.: A teenager shoved another teen off his bike and rode away, then returned a short time later with the bike and chased the victim with a stick. Police found and arrested the suspect.
200 block Emory St., Thursday, April 5, 1:30 p.m.: A man tried to grab another man’s cell phone, and failed, then punched and kicked the victim in another attempt to take the phone. The victim hung on and the suspect fled.
1500 block Hollins St., Thursday, April 5, 9:30 p.m.: A man jumped a woman from behind and stole her red T-Mobile Slide phone.

100 block E. Barney St., Friday, April 6, 8:45 p.m.: A woman was held up at gunpoint of her multi-colored Coach handbag with matching wallet, containing credit cards, personal papers and cash, together worth $800.
100 block Addison St., Saturday, April 7, 4:30 a.m.: Three men attacked another man, punched him in the head and stole his Blackberry cell phone, a necklace with a white cross and cash.

Unit block E. Lee St., Saturday, April 7, 10:23 p.m.: A man robbed a parking garage attendant at knifepoint and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

1200 block W. Pratt St., Thursday, April 5, 5 p.m.: A man struck a woman with his car.

300 block S. Woodyear St., Friday, April 6, 11 a.m.: Two women argued and one pulled a kitchen knife and threatened the other. No one was injured.

1100 block S. Charles St., Friday, April 6, 8:30 p.m.: A drunk told police that the bar’s bouncer assaulted him.
1100 block Hollins St., Sunday, April 8, 1 a.m.: Two men argued and one cut the other with a knife and fled.

800 block Hollins St., Sunday, April 1, 6 p.m.: Someone broke into a house under renovation and stole a pair of plasterer’s stilts and a DeWalt drill.

2000 block W. Pratt St., Saturday, April 7, 10 p.m.: Someone tried to break into a house by prying the hinge of the back door, failed, and fled.

Unit block S. Schroeder St., Tuesday, April 3, 10:30 p.m.: Someone stole a 2004 Honda Pilot.

Unit block Birckhead St., Friday, April 6, 8 a.m.: A man reported his 2002 Nissan Altima stolen. Police found the car during a canvass of the area.

1000 block William St., Saturday, April 7, 11:11 p.m.: Someone stole a 2005 Chevy Cobalt.
200 block Scott St., Saturday, April 7, 2 p.m.: Someone stole a 2004 Dodge Neon.
1400 block William St., Sunday, April 1, 5 p.m.: Someone cut a lock and stole two Gary Fisher bicycles.

100 block Scott St., Sunday, April 1, 8 p.m.: Someone ransacked a parked car but apparently stole nothing.

1400 block Key Hwy., Sunday, April 1, 5:10 p.m.: Someone cut the catalytic converter from the underside of a parked vehicle.

100 block Scott St., Monday, April 2, noon: Someone stole a central air conditioning compressor unit from a backyard.

1500 block Latrobe Park Terr., Tuesday, April 3, 8:05 p.m.: Someone stole a men’s mountain bike valued at $500 from a back yard.

1800 block Washington Blvd., Tuesday, April 3, 11:51 p.m.: Police arrested a man for shoplifting cough drops valued at $1.19.

1000 block S. Charles St., Wednesday, April 4, 2:23 p.m.: A man was arrested for shoplifting various hygiene products.

1100 block Washington Blvd., Wednesday, April 4, 8:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested for trying to shoplift a package of Cheez-Its.

400 block S. Mount St., Saturday, April 7, 1:30 p.m.: A man offered a friend a ride. As she was getting into the car she saw $30 cash sitting loose in the car, grabbed it and ran.

Stolen from various cars parked in various  places: A laptop computer, a Kindle Fire, a backpack, textbooks, calculator and other academically inclined equipment, and $5 or so in loose change. To get the loose change someone smashed the rear window of the car, which will cost about $500 to repair. Be warned.
