South Crime: DirecTV receiver walks out with evicted tenant

Be on the lookout:

Police are asking for help solving a robbery and sexual assault that took place early Sunday morning, April 1.

Just before 1 a.m. a man approached a woman in the 1600 block Johnson St. by Riverside Park. The man, described as black male, six feet tall, medium build and dark complexion, asked for money and then put his hand down the woman’s pants. She fought back and ran away.

Anyone with information about the crime should call Metro Crime Stoppers, 1-866-7LOCKUP (762587).

Released:

Julien Rosaly and Nichole Maultsaby, suspects in a Federal Hill robbery (Guide, March 28), were released without charges after police found that Rosaly was in a restaurant at the time the robbery occurred. Police are still looking for suspects.

Robbery

1000 block W. Pratt St., Monday, March 26, 7:30 a.m.: A group of juveniles attacked a man from behind, hit him in the back of the head and stole his cell phone.

1600 block Patapsco St., Sunday, April 1, 1:25 a.m.: A man walking home was attacked by several men who punched and kicked him, then took his cell phone and wallet, together worth $450.

1600 block Whetstone Way, Sunday, April 1, 12:01 a.m.: A man leaving work was accosted by two men. One of them held a gun to his head and stole his wallet containing medical cards and $20 cash.

Aggravated assault

1300 block W. Pratt St., Monday, March 26. 11:35 a.m.: A man was cut on his left arm and shoulder and left thigh.

1300 block W. Ostend St., Thursday, March 29, 10:30 p.m.: A woman’s ex-boyfriend pointed a handgun at the woman’s current boyfriend. The couple swore a warrant against the ex.

600 block S. Payson St., Friday, March 30, 11 p.m.: A man threatened another man with a knife.

100 block E. Cross St., Saturday, March 31, 2 a.m.: A bar fight sent a man to the hospital for stitches and treatment for a possible concussion.

300 block S. Payson St., Saturday, March 31, 3:44 p.m.: A boy was shot with a BB gun.

500 block Otterbein St., Saturday, March 31, 4:45 p.m.: A man was shot with a paintball gun.

1100 block Washington Blvd., Sunday, April 1, 1:20 a.m.: A women was attacked by a group of suspects. She fell and hit her head on the sidewalk.

Burglary

Unit block Andrew Pl., Monday, March 26. 5 a.m.: A man returned home to find that his laptop was missing. There was no sign of forced entry.

Stolen auto

1300 block Hollins St., Monday, March 26. 6:60 p.m.: Someone tried to steal a car by popping the ignition.

800 block W. Lombard St., Monday, March 26. 7 p.m.: Someone stole a 2000 Dodge Stratus.

200 block Scott St., Monday, March 26. 4 p.m.: Someone pried open the passenger door and popped the ignition in an attempt to steal a Dodge Neon.

400 block S. Mount St., Tuesday, March 27, 11 p.m.: Someone stole a 2006 Ford Taurus.

700 block W. Hamburg St., Thursday, March 29, 4:30 p.m.: Someone stole a 150cc Taizhou scooter.

Larceny

1600 block S. Hanover St., Monday, March 26. 6:50 p.m.: A landlord arrived to serve a tenant  with eviction papers. The tenant was not there, and neither was the landlord’s DirecTV receiver.

1200 block Sargeant St., Tuesday, March 27, 8:13 a.m.: Some enterprising soul stole the Denver Boot from a car that had been immobilized for unpaid fines.

1500 block Latrobe Park Terr., Thursday, March 29, 9 p.m.: A man left his backpack unattended on a park bench and when he returned his wallet, containing personal papers and cash, was missing.

2700 block Port Covington Dr., Friday, March 30, 9:25 p.m.: A man left his wallet containing cash and credit cards on the sales counter by mistake and when he returned for it it was gone.

1300 block Sargeant St., Saturday, March 31, 11 p.m.: Someone stole the rear tag from a parked car.
