Southeast Crime: Victims fight back, get maced by suspect’s mother

N. Conkling St., 100 block, June 24, 1:50 a.m. Police stopped a suspect, and a woman ran up and said, “That’s the guy who cut me.” Her ear was hanging off. According to the victim’s boyfriend, they had been walking on the street when the suspect ran up and cut her. Police arrested the suspect.
Watson St., 1000 block, June 24, 7 a.m. A man reported that his girlfriend attempted to punch him and missed. She then produced a knife and slashed at him, but he avoided her. A warrant wa issued for the suspect’s arrest.
Herring Ct., 300 block, June 24, 5:25 p.m. Police responded to a call for a street fight. At the scene, police interviewed a victim and friend. The victim and a friend reported that they had been attacked by a suspect with a glass bottle. The suspect claimed she was attacked from behind by the victim and her friend. Police were unable to determine the aggressor and advised both parties how to file charges.
E. Lombard St., 3400 block, June 25, 6:28 p.m. Two women reported that a female suspect with whom they had fought earlier came out of her house and threw various objects including bleach at the victims. The suspect’s mother then came out and maced the victims after they started fighting back. Police arrested the suspect and her mother.
S. Caroline St., 200 block, June 26, 2 a.m. A woman told police that after arguing with her friend, her friend punched her in the torso several times, and then went into her house and came out with a kitchen knife. The victim disarmed the suspect, who was arrested at the scene.
S. Chester St., 300 block, June 26, 11:05 a.m. A woman reported that, after a dispute about moving in together, her boyfriend put his hands around her neck, cutting off her airflow. He then headbutted her and threw her to the ground. She got away and called police, who arrested the suspect at the scene.
Watson St., 900 block, June 27, 6:30 p.m. A taxi driver reported that his fare asked him to pull over on Watson St. so he could call his sister. The suspect exited the cab, maced the driver, and ran off.
Herring Ct., 200 block, June 29, 3:40 a.m. A man reported that his girlfriend hit him in the head with a fan. Both parties were intoxicated; the girlfriend was uncooperative. She was arrested at the scene.
Dundalk Ave., 1000 block, June 30, 2 a.m. A man reported that he tried to break up a bar fight that had spilled out into the street. He sustained multiple stab wounds to the jaw and shoulder and was listed in serious condition at the hospital.

E. Pratt St., 1600 block, June 26, 5:56 a.m. A man said that he was walking with his friend when the two of them were approached by two other men. The suspects began going through their pockets. When the victim resisted, he was shoved to the ground and kicked in the face. He reported $200 stolen. The victim’s friend did not resist and was not injured, but he reported $500 and a cell phone stolen. Both victims were highly intoxicated.
E. Baltimore St., 2300 block, June 26, 4 p.m. A woman told police she was jogging in Patterson Park and was attacked by a man she had previously passed on Baltimore St. He knocked her down, and the two struggled over her cell phone. The man took it, and fled north. The victim followed, but lost sight of him on Lombard St.
S. Highland Ave., 800 block, June 26, 11:30 p.m. A man reported that while walking home, he was approached by two men who robbed him at gun point. During the investigation, a bar owner told police that the victim had left with a six-pack of beer.
E. Fayette St., 2800 block, June 27, 1:10 p.m. A man said he was driving and was flagged down by another man he recognized. The first man gave a ride to the second man, who then pulled out a gun and ordered him to empty his pockets. The victim reported $370 taken.
S. Spring St., 300 block, June 28, 8:20 a.m. A woman told police that she went to visit her godmother. Her godmother’s friend showed up and demanded money for methadone. The victim refused to give her money. The suspect ripped a gold chain from the victim’s neck, and the victim fled. A warrant was issued for the suspect.
E. Pratt St., 700 block, June 30, 5:40 a.m. A man reported that three men approached him and demanded his money. He refused, and they punched and kicked him and took a bag of clothes he was carrying.
