Whether cheering for victory or drowning your sorrows, there’s a local bar for you

Coming off a great 2008 season, the Baltimore Ravens had great expectations for 2009. After completing a 4-0 pre-season and going 3 and 0 against Kansas City, San Diego and poor old Cleveland, however, the Ravens fell prey to the Bengals.
Last season, the Ravens finished with an 11-5 record en route to a wild card berth in the playoffs and fell just short of the Super Bowl with a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the eventual Super Bowl winners.  This year, the Ravens aren’t likely to even make the playoffs—so we might as well pull up a stool at the better neighborhood bars and share our misery with friends.
Mother’s, Federal Hill – Mother’s in Federal Hill has one of the best tailgating experiences in all of Baltimore.  The Purple Patio is where to be for pregame festivities.  Mother’s features $10 buckets of Coors Light and $11 pitchers of Blue Moon to keep your liver happy while getting ready for the games at M&T stadium.  Half price wings will keep your stomach happy, and you can also get a NY Strip with one side for $10.95 from 5pm until close.  If you don’t like the sound of that, then you must be a Steelers fan.
Canton’s Portside Tavern, Canton – Canton’s Portside Tavern is just one more great spot to catch Ravens’ games.  Come Sunday the 13th, Portside’s upstairs renovations will be complete, which means that’s just one more place to enjoy their $2 Miller Lite drafts to go along with their fifty cent (no, not the rapper) chicken wings.  If that wasn’t enough, they also offer $2 off appetizers on Sundays.
And I’m not even done yet!  They also have $5 cheesesteaks, which are 100 percent delicious.  If you’re looking to watch the game, all you have to do is open your eyes, and you will find one of their 2 flat screen TV’s to watch the games on.  With all of their beer specials, hopefully you’ll still be able to open your eyes.
Shuckers, Fells Point – If you need a spot to watch the Ray Lewis pummel opposing running backs, then make sure you include Shuckers on that list.  On game days, Shuckers offers $2 Coors Lights to go along with $4.99 wings.  They also have $3 Corona bombers and $3 Blue Moons as well.  If Budweiser is more your style, they offer $2 Budweiser drafts all day everyday.
Looney’s Pub, Canton – Maybe they called it Looney’s because you might be if you pass up on these specials.  Where else can you watch Ray Rice run for the end zone while enjoying $2.50 domestic bottles?  Where else can you enjoy $3 Raven Pops (Bubblegum / Grape pucker test tube shots) while watching Ed Reed make an unsuspecting wide receiver cry like a five year old?  If that’s not enough, they also offer $1 oysters, wings, and shrimp specials all day and night.
Pickles Pub, Downtown – The name alone should be reason enough to go here.  But if you have those things called “standards”, then maybe this will entice you to come on in:  Pickles Pub has $3 Sam Adams and Twisted Tea specials on game day, and if you are the sophisticated imbiber, they will gladly serve you the champagne of beers for $1.
That’s right, Miller High Life for a buck.  You can’t beat that with a stick!  Actually you probably could, but it would make a mess, and let’s be honest, who likes to spill a beer?  I know I don’t.  If Baltimore is playing on Monday night (November 16th and December 7th to be precise), Pickles Pub has $5 pizza, $4 nachos, $5 for a dozen wings, and they also offer two for one drafts.
Clutch Lounge, Canton – This is one more spot you want to be watching the game when Flacco finds Derrick Mason in the end zone to win the game (PS – Thanks for un-retiring Derrick!!).  On Sundays, you can find $2 Natty Boh bottles as well as Miller Lite and Yuengling drafts.  You’d be surprised how far $5 can get you here.
Don’t worry, I won’t keep you guessing.  Five bucks will get you a burger and your choice of a Miller Lite or Yuengling draft.  If that’s what you can get for $5, I’ll bet you’re wondering what $15 will get you!  Well, wonder no more.  For $15 you can get 20 wings and two Miller Lite or Yuengling drafts. What do you think $30 would get you?  I’m actually not too sure on that one, but their amazing staff would be more than willing to check into that for you.
