Local breakfast favorite, Simply Marie’s on 3023 Elliott Street is making a bid to appear on ABC’s show Shark Tank.

The show gives small businesses an opportunity show their products and hopefully get funding from those who believe in their work.

For Simply Marie’s, they hope to get on the show in order to receive funds to expand their business locally and eventually nationally. They say they are one of the fastest growing restaurants in Canton and more money could help them immensely.

Simply Marie’s has been an institution in the neighborhood  since 2011, serving home-made breakfast.

Robert Branch is the titular Marie’s son who is leading the campaigning effort.

“People have come in and said they’re voting and making their friends vote too, they’re like ‘you guys are the best around, we support you!’” Branch said.

He said that his mother is overjoyed at the prospect of being chosen.

“It’s like everything she wants to happen has the possibility of actually coming true. I’m so happy for her because I have watched her build this business from the ground up, and to be on a national show? I can’t even find the words for that.”

“I want to thank everybody for their support and without the people we wouldn’t be here. there’s no words to describe the way me and my mom are feeling,” said Branch.
